'll talk about it. just saying. i can be bought. president obama travels to redford, michigan, today to speak at daimler detroit diesel. the company is expected to announce a $100 million plus investment that would expand u.s. production and jobs and also help them develop new technology. detroit deals has 2300 employees and it makes engines rear axles and transmissions. daimler is expected to say its truck division will be the first heavy duty vehicle maker in the u.s. to make all of the parts in one place. that means that the design process can end up being more efficient and the parts end up being more effective. president obama's trip to michigan comes at the same time that right to work legislation is teed up to be signed into law this week. the republican state house and senate jammed through the legislation last week and governor rick schneider who is also a republican, is likely to sign it tomorrow. labor union leaders say they've been told the president will address the right to work fight in today's speec

wisconsin is really starting to take the brunt of this and beginning to snow hard now in northern michigan. we'll pick up an additional six to ten inches in northern michigan and wisconsin. but it's the winds that are making it very difficult for the plows to keep up with. we have winds gusting from wichita to des moines, above 40 miles per hour this morning. so travel in the midwest, very dangerous. and i'll continue to give you any updates here on "morning joe." when i hear more information of the mobile area in alabama, possibly struck by a tornado within the last half hour. you're watching "morning joe." we're brewed by starbucks. this family used capital one venture miles to come home for the holidays. that's double miles you can actually use... sadly, their brother's white christmas just got "blacked out." 's in michigan today with extension from daimler. >> no, that's right. ironically michigan might vote to become a right-to-work state which could help their manufacturing competitiveness, as well. but thatroceeen going on for 20 years. now, look, we think we probably need to cut the corporate tax rate and have a territoriality agreement so we stop trying to tax profits of u.s. domiciled countries twice. but if we can do those things we think manufacturing will start coming back. it's not going to really happen in a major way in '13. but you know, '14, '15, these benefits will start to accrue to the economy and if it looks like there's a real strong case for a pickup in earnings growth, in '14, then the market will start to price that in the backup of '13. >> we spend so much time talking about what's going to happen in washington over the next 20 days. it's nice to actually have a conversation about what will happen in the next twelve months. brarry, thank you so much. >> i had to force myself to do it. >> barry knapp at barclays in new york. thanks, man. where's the love for the twinkie? today

if we extend all of these middle-class tax cuts. in michigan, to share with me what $2,200 means to them. one of them said it was four months of groceries. that is a big deal. we were figuring out gallons of gas to go back and forth to work. it could buy -- for the average commuter, they could go back and forth to work for three years. when families are going into the holidays, they need to know that we get it. we see every day, republicans in the house as well as olympia snowe that urged us to come together to get this done. we have heard from tom cole that they pass the senate bill. we are hearing from house members saying to get this piece done. republicans said, why don't you get together and get things done? we know that if the discharge petition comes out before the house, they have enough votes to pass it. why wait 27 days? why not just do it now. the house needs to take up a bill that we gave them back in july. it passed on a bipartisan vote here and when is brought up in the house it will pass with a bipartisan vote. >> i want to echo a little bit of what the senator said. consu
